Dragons' World is a handcrafted board game that my son Achille (when he was only 5!) and I created together. It all started when Achille noticed that there weren't any board games suitable for 5-year-olds among my collection. So, I suggested we create one ourselves, and that to begin we needed a story. Achille came up with a fantastic tale: 'In a faraway land, dragons and humans lived happily together. But then, a bigger dragon started bullying everyone and wanted to rule the world. To achieve his goal, he stole all the colors from the world and hid them away. Some friendly dragons and a group of brave children set off on a quest to retrieve the stolen colors.'
We brought Achille's story to life using recycled cardboard, scissors, glue, paper, markers, and a few toys. The rules were simple: we built the game board as we explored the land, and we'd roll the dice to advance towards the dragon's lair. Each time we played, the rules would evolve based on Achille's new ideas. All the artwork and concepts were his, and I just helped him bring them to life. It was a truly magical experience."
Here are a few things I've added to enhance the story:
More vivid imagery: Phrases like "a fantastic tale" and "brought Achille's story to life" help visualize the creative process.
Emphasis on collaboration: Highlighting the joint effort between you and your son emphasizes the special bond and creativity involved.
Emotional impact: The phrase "a truly magical experience" captures the wonder and excitement of creating something together.
